When we heard the news that it was going to snow this weekend, and in large quantities, we knew it was going to be B-A-D. There was no way that we were going to miss this snow storm, and it hit us with such magnitude that we are running out of places to shovel it!
The snow started here for us on Saturday and never stopped until Monday evening. On Sunday, I think that I shoveled the driveway about six times, just to keep up with the amount of snow that kept falling. Each time I went out to shovel, the snow kept getting heavier and heavier, and I was running out of steam. I went to bed tired and feared what I would find when I woke up on Monday morning.
Thank goodness that Monday morning was not that bad and my Sweetie was able to get out of the driveway for work without having me to shovel. The snow just kept coming most of the day with high winds and a wind chill that would freeze your fingers in a short time. I am so mad at the snow plows because after my Sweetie headed off to work, they filled up the bottom of our driveway with so much ice and snow that I could not shovel it. Our snow blower could not even move the two to three foot wide pile of gunk they left. I started to worry. I waited outside it seemed like an hour to flag down a truck to plow it out, with no luck. I kept going outside in the hopes to catch a truck passing by and my luck paid off because I flagged down a nice guy who backed in our drive and plowed out the pile of ice and snow for me. Phew. What a day!
The weekend was such a blur. Did nothing but shovel snow, oh wait, I think I got some laundry done in there somewhere, but we are once again, all caught up with our snow removal until our next snow storm hits us in a few days.
Well carved out drive and sidewalks! I need a flag to put in our snow mound.
Our snow mounds down the driveway are getting higher, and wider!
We can’t even see our neighbors any longer! Our unplanned privacy fence between our yards!
The entrance to the poop pit, all shoveled out. The snow walls are higher than the dogs now and they feel like they are in a little room.
Our raised garden is back there somewhere under all of that snow! Gosh, I miss our garden so much.
Standing inside the shoveled out poop pit, looking at our huge snow piles.
This is how Bella dealt with all of this white confetti. Way to go Bella! What a team player, eh?
I am taking it easy today and resting for our next snow storm.
Wow. That is some seriously high snow walls! So proud of you for flagging down a snow plow! Well done!
Oh Betsy, we are soooo tired of all this snow, and especially me for having to snow it all or use the snow blower. Every day since Saturday, it has snowed here. Every morning I wake up and have to “DIG OUT”! The poop pits walls are higher than me right now! I can’t believe that we have an actual ROOM in our backyard! I had to flag down that plow guy that day, it was so hard and I could not move the snow and ice. I am thankful for that guy in the yellow truck!!!
You poor thing. Here’s wishing you several days of nothing but sunshine!
Well today, Friday, I finally woke up to NOT having to shovel any snow. Yippee. I’ll take it! But unfortunately, we have another clipper coming in on Saturday. I’ll ask my boyfriend to do all the shoveling this weekend, as I am sore as heck! I need a break, or I am moving in with you!
I hope he says no. I could use you about now. It’s time for us to start our garden!
Aw, we’ll be starting our seeds under the grow lights pretty soon over here! I can’t wait for garden season already!
Oh my! You sure got the snow…looks like here. The driveway and walking areas are beautiful. You did an excellent job. Pretty soon this white stuff will be leaving.
I must tell you mom finally has all the fixings to make a sock rabbit! Those knee socks are hard to find after Christmas, she says.
(((Shoko)))
I think a lot of us got a lot of snow over the weekend. Finding a place for it, is what is tough! That is awesome that you are going to make a sock bunny! Good luck! After you make your first one, the rest will be a breeze!
mom is not real creative with her hands but let’s hope it at least resembles a bunny..hehe
No matter what it ends up resembling, it will be fun to make! Good luck, but hope it turns out to be a bunny!
That’s a LOT of snow removal. God bless you. Maybe it’s time to park the snow blower and get a bobcat. That’s what they use in my apartment complex to clear the walkways and sidewalks.
Now that is a stellar idea about the Bobcat! And, I know how to drive one too!
It’s not fun to do, but you have to look at that beautifully clean driveway and appreciate the massive effort. Looks great.
I hear ya Will! It is worth it (afterwards) to see the results of a clean drive, but it sure takes a lot to get it that way!
Wow you certainly got the snow deep where you are. I don’t know how you cope and your other half went off to work. snow like that in the UK and the whole country would grind to a halt. They’ve had some snow in the UK up North but down in the south west we have had only the merest smattering.
I guess we are used to it here – life goes on. It might take the plow guys to clean up all the mess, but our city never grinds to a hault. Ha, I think the people around here actually drive faster in the snow. They are nuts!
Wow, that’s a lot of snow. you organize your snow and poop pit well!
I could put that on my resume! A well organized poop pit! LOL Now that is awesome!
Poop pit, love it! Your snow piles are so beautifully piled, just like did them up!
Yep, we have a poopie pit! It makes it a lot easier to clean it up when you can find it. I don’t want Spring to arrive only to find poop everywhere. That won’t happen with a well organized poop pit! Oh those snow piles are higher than me now! I am running out of umph to throw the snow up on top of them!
