Wordless Wednesday

Nothing escapes the dogs around here, not even this guy who decided to sit on top of the garage to drive the dogs crazy.

SQUIRREL

OMG, can you see how full this guys belly is? He must have been storing his nuts over the winter for sure! Time to get on the treadmill little man, or I can open the back door and the dogs can chase you!

SQUIRREL2

What do your doggies see outside the window that drive them crazy?

Thawing Out

In our little spot in the world today, we started to thaw out. The temps were around 40 degrees, water was flowing through the gutters which was a pleasant sound since they have been a solid block of ice, and the poop pit is no longer an ice skating rink. It was a good day today.

Yahoo, I can smell Spring!

Yahoo, I can smell Spring!

When Nikita went outside today, she jumped up on the side of the snow mound to look around, and stuck her head up in the air to take a good sniff of the air. She smelled Spring today!

NIKITA1 3-8-15

Nikita took a running jump and she was up on top of the snow mound in seconds!  I snapped this photo at the perfect moment and got the snow flying through the air.

NIKITA4 3-8-15

Nikita got so excited when she saw Daddy in the bedroom window looking at her playing.

NIKITA2 3-8-15

I love this photograph of Nikita enjoying her day in the snow.

NIKITA3 3-8-15

Nikita is so photogenic.

BELLA3 3-8-15

Bella, of course, wanted a chance to show off her mountain goat abilities too!

BELLA4 3-8-15

Ok, I’m done with this snow mound!

BELLA2 3-8-15

I’m so tall, I can see into the neighbors yard!  Hey, there’s birdies over there!

BELLA1 3-8-15

What do you mean I have to come down now?  I’m king of the hill!

SNOW DOGGIES 3-8-15

With the perfect temps today, I just had to make some snow doggies in the front yard! As you can see, I tried to make a snow doggie Nikita and Bella! (and, if you look at the front door, Nikita is watching out the door too)

SNOW DOGGIES3 3-8-15

Snow doggie Bella!

SNOW DOGGIES2 3-8-15

All in all, we had a good day. We started to thaw a bit and look forward to the upcoming week of temps in the 40’s where we can get rid of a lot of this snow. The dogs had an awesome play day in the high snow mounds, the poop pit thawed so no more pee pee splits, and snow doggies now sit in the front yard to wave to people driving past. It was a good day.

A Romp In The Snow

We had a romp in the snow today. It was a quick romp, but nonetheless, we romped! This was the first time in a few days that it has not been so brutally cold. We stuck our noses into that cold white stuff, sniffed some spots that were yellow, and dug into the huge piles of snow that Mommy had built.

Mommy let us romp around while she tried to dig up our frozen doo doo’s in the snow.

1-9-15 BELLA IN THE SNOW2

Hey, what’s up? This is Bella’s signature facial expression.

1-9-15 NIKITA IN THE SNOW2

Nikita was watching our neighbors dogs head outside. Doesn’t she look so beautiful in her winter sweater?

1-9-15 BELLA IN THE SNOW1

Bella heard another snow plow coming down the road. She does not miss a thing going on around here.

1-9-15 BELLA IN THE SNOW3Ha ha! Bella snickers as she woofed at the plow guy! Take that you loud and noisy plow guy! Quit filling up the end of our driveway with snow already!

Our romp is exactly what we needed, but we’re back inside snuggling on the couch together in front of our little heater, while our Mommy covers us up with her fuzzy blankie. Life is good.

A Bitter Cold Wednesday

The bitter cold has returned to Cleveland, OH. The winds are bone chilling. It’s about 11 degrees here right now, but the real feel is -13. I am limiting the dogs time outside because of the wind chill to keep their paws safe from frost bite.

1-7-15 A COLD DAY IN CLEVELAND

It was play time inside for the dogs. Hide & seek and tug-of-war games broke out.

1-7-15 NIKITA AND TOY

Bella always runs with her toys to the safety of the couch. I wonder if she thinks that Nikita can’t get them up there.

1-7-15 BELLA

Nikita grabbed her own toy and climbed up on the couch next to Bella.

1-7-15 NIKITA

Here is where they both fell fast asleep, each of them guarding a toy.

When it’s bone chilling outside, there is nothing better than snuggling on the couch with a friend.

It Happened Last Night

Yesterday afternoon the dogs caught me. Caught me wrapping up their Christmas toys! Dogs don’t miss anything! A simple crinkle noise from a package, sends them running to investigate. I sat on the rug in the living room wrapping up each new squeaky toy, rope pull, and stuffies, while they hoovered over my back the entire time. I was caught, but I continued to wrap!

But I made a mistake. When wrapping up a larger stuffie, I pushed down on it while wrapping and it “oinked”! “OMG” I thought and I turned around to look at Nikita and Bella and they were close to drooling! Their eyes were glazed over and the moved in to sniff the wrapping paper. I can’t believe that stuffie gave me away and squeaked on me! (darn stuffie)

NIKITA PRESENT WATCHING1

I did not think much about the toys after I placed them in their Christmas stockings and a few under the tree. The dogs sniffed their stocking a few times then followed me into the kitchen where I continued on with my holiday baking, and was glad to know that I got everything all wrapped.

Then last night after dinner, Nikita went back into the living room and never left. She just sat there, in front of the tree and her pink Christmas stocking and looked at it. I watched her as she scooted closer and closer to her stocking. Then she laid down right in front of the tree and stayed there the entire night. We thought it was the cutest thing we have ever seen, a dog who was getting excited about Christmas presents. I went over to check on her and she looked up at me with those sad puppy eyes as if to say “can I have that thing that oinked?” What a sweet dog. I tried to explain to her that Christmas is not here yet, but all she did was look at me with that sad look on her face. All she wanted was that thing that oinked.

NIKITA WATCHING PRESENTS2

It was time for bed, and Nikita was still laying under the tree, where she had been laying for hours. I had to do something. I picked up their toys under the tree and removed the stockings hanging on our stocking holder and carried them into another room. Nikita followed. I gave Nikita a hug, kissed her on her nose, and told her it would be ok. She went into the kitchen and laid down.

NIKITA WATCHING PRESENTS3

I was just amazed on how persistent she was on keeping an eye on her presents under the tree, after one of them gave themself away by oinking. (darn piggie)

Birthdays Make You Smile

NIKITA SO HAPPY 7-18-14

I’m so happy because I just celebrated my 4th birthday this month!

NIKITA SMILING

Oh what fun I had on my birthday! I can’t stop smiling!

NIKITA IN FRONT YARD

Other than Mommy making me wear this stupid birthday hat (like she always does), my day was awesome. I can’t believe she made me go outside so other doggies could see me in this ridiculous hat. How embarrassing!

NIKITA IN BIRTHDAY HAT

You can’t look mean while growling at another doggie when you are wearing a birthday hat! I can hear them laughing at me under their breath.

NIKITA WITH TENNIS BALL

I got lots of toys for my birthday, including some tennis balls. I demolished this one in about five minutes. I guess they don’t make tennis balls like they used to, eh?

NIKITA AND BALLOON

I got to play with and chase lots of balloons that Mommy blew up for me! She even tried to make some balloon animals with these skinny ones, but all they did was pop! I guess it was not as easy as it looked in the directions! LOL

NIKITA BY BACK DOOR

Here I am taking a rest from all of the fun I had on my birthday and sat by the back door for awhile. Mommy followed me around all day taking pictures of me, but that is what she does best. She always make me feel special on my birthday.

What do you doggies do on your birthday?

Happy Birthday Nikita

Nothing brings so much love & happiness into your life, like having a dog by your side. Our sweet girl, Nikita, is celebrating her 4th birthday today, and she has brought so much joy into our lives since we rescued her.

NIKITA IN TUTU

Nikita came from litter of seven pups, and after they were born, their Mommy was poisoned with anti-freeze and died, and the pups were in dire need of help. The APL rescued all the pups and saved their lives. A foster Mom named Brea, took all seven of the pups into her home and fed them around the clock so they could be nice & healthy.

NIKITA COLLAGE

I remember the day we first saw Nikita. We were heading into PetSmart for kitty food and noticed that the APL had a pet fair going on in the parking lot. We decided to go take a look at all the little kitties and doggies before we headed into the store.

NIKITA COLLAGE2

We saw a bunch of fluffy puppies and had to go see them. Nikita was the first one we picked up and she gave us kissies all over our face. We were hooked. We adopted her right there on the spot and our lives changed forever, not to mention, hers. Nikita found her forever home and happiness!

NIKITA COLLAGE3

I could not ever imagine life without this sweet girl in it, as she brings so much love and happiness to our lives. So Happy Birthday Nikita, you’re four years old today, and we just wanted you to know how much we love you! We have done so many silly things together, we dressed you up even though we knew you tolerated it for our sake, but you have always been by our side and showed your love and affection, and every night since we rescued you, we snuggle together before we fall asleep. We love you with all our heart Nikita!

Happy Birthday Bella

Our sweet girl, Bella, turned two on Sunday! Bella has been such a wonderful addition to our little family and we love her so much. I still remember the day when we saw Bella for the first time, as we immediately fell in love with her.

BELLA BIRTHDAY 2 YEARS OLD 6-29-14

I love all of Bella’s facial expressions, as she has many!

BELLA 2ND BIRTHDAY CHALK SIGN

Bella posing next to my chalk birthday sign, but is interested in looking at something else. LOL

BELLA BIRTHDAY SEPIA 6-29-14

This is one of my favorite birthday photo’s of Bella.

BELLA 2ND BIRTHDAY 6-29-14

“Oh, what’s that?”

BELLA IM NOT PAMPERED

This is a typical scene at our house with Bella. As you can see, Bella is not pampered at all. She loves being covered up when she naps with Teddy.

BELLA AND NIKITA MEET FOR THE FIRST TIME

Look at how little Bella was when we brought her home for the first time at two months old. Bella and Nikita fell in love with each other that day and have been best buddies ever since.

BELLA AND NIKITA

This photograph is so silly, as you can see Bella sticking her tongue out at Nikita! Nikita was probably thinking “Is she staying here?”

Happy Birthday sweet Bella, we love you!
