Pizza Pan Patriotic Platter

Oops, I did it again!  I pulled out my Pony Beads today and created a Pizza Pan Patriotic Platter.  With the Fourth of July coming up, I decided that I needed a platter to show off my goodies, like my Patriotic Strawberries, or perhaps some garnishes.

PIZZA PAN PATRIOTIC PLATTER

Just like my other Pony Bead projects, I just poured the beads onto the pizza pan and used red, white and blue beads, just perfect for the Fourth of July.  Make sure you fill up all the holes on the pan and all of the edges have a bead touching it.

PIZZA PAN PATRIOTIC PLATTER MELTING IN OVEN

Once the pizza pan is completed filled (one layer of beads only), place in a pre-heated oven at 425 degrees.  Watch the beads closely, as they will melt quickly.  Keep a fan on or open a few windows to let out the light smell from the melting beads.  (Note:  You can also melt them on your grill outside, just make sure to leave the lid open so as nothing accidentally drops into the plastic while it is melting)

PIZZA PAN PATRIOTIC PLATTER COOLING

You will start to see the beads starting to melt in the pan.  The way you can tell that your project is completely melted, is when the top is completely flat and smooth.  If you still see some bead “bumps”, then it needs to stay in the oven a little longer.  Carefully remove from the oven once the top is completely flat & smooth.  Place gently on top of stove to cool.  You might hear a slight cracking sound, but that is just the plastic cooling, so do not worry.

Once the pan is completely cooled, just turn the pizza pan upside down and the platter will pop out.  Easy, right?

Now all you need to do is take your Glass Candlestick that you got at the Dollar Store for $1 and hot glue it to the direct center on the bottom of the platter.  You’re done!  You have now created a Patriotic Platter that everyone will wonder where you got it….only you will know that you made it! (NOTE:  I would not suggest using any sharp knife on the platter as it will most likely scratch the plastic)

Since I had some red, white and blue Pony Beads left over, I decided to make a Patriotic Star out of a metal cookie cutter.  I just placed the metal cookie cutter in a round cake pan, filled the metal star up with Pony Beads and melted it in the oven.  Once it has cooled, just slightly pull on the sides of the metal cookie cutter to release the star and it will pop right out.  I will probably drill a small hole in the top of this star and hang in my kitchen window for a little Patriotic charm!

Happy Fourth of July

Everyone is hustling and bustling around town, and stores are packed with shoppers that are stocking up on buns and hot dogs for their Fourth of July parties, but don’t forget about your treats!  We have an easy idea for you that everyone will enjoy, Patriotic Strawberries!  We featured these last year, but thought that we would share them again, as they are delicious, not to mention easy to make.

If you have a melting pot, use this to melt a little over a cup of your white chocolate melts (found at any craft store) and dip your strawberries in the white chocolate, then dip them into blue sprinkles.  That’s it!  Now, wasn’t that easy?    If you don’t have a melting pot, you could melt your chocolate in a glass measuring cup in the microwave at 10 second intervals, but be careful not to burn your chocolate.  The melting pot works best because it keeps the chocolate evenly heated and will not burn the chocolate.  When you use the old method of melting chocolate in a glass measuring cup in the microwave, the chocolate will melt, but it will also cool while sitting on your counter, that’s why we recommend for you to use a melting pot as it works best!

Making decorations for the Fourth of July is simple.  Even a red bow on a flower pot spruces it up.  Or, how about pulling out your big colored rubber bands (we know you have a supply in your home somewhere) and pull the rubber bands over a glass votive holder, red band, white band, red band (you get the idea).  The glow of the candle, of course, will not shine through the rubber bands, but it decorates your table in Patriotic style!

We have made some of our own wood patriotic crafts, like our patriotic wood house boxes, our patriotic monogram “R” that adorns our front door in style, and even used some pieces from a pallet and made a quick and easy patriotic flag to hang in our garden on the fence.  All it takes is a little red, white, and blue and some creativity to pull off a festive Fourth!

And, you can’t celebrate the Fourth without fireworks, so we wanted to share with you some of our outstanding fireworks photographs that we took last year.  You can click on the photographs to enlarge them, if you wanted!

Have a Happy and Safe Fourth!

Adorn Your Front Door in Patriotic Style with a Monogram

It’s time to start thinking about getting your decorations ready for the Fourth of July, and what a better way to show your patriotic pride with a Monogram on your front door!  We have just designed the Letter R (for now) in a patriotic style so you can add it to your front door, or hang it anywhere in your house for instant charm.

Wood Monogram “R” is made from 1/2″ pressed wood and weighs 2.5 pounds, is painted in red, white and blue with red stripes and white stars, then sealed with a clear coat to protect the paint.  Hanger is include on the back of the “R” too for easy hanging.  (Back of the wood “R” is not finished or painted because no one looks at the back!)  Dimensions:  27 1/2″ x 17″ x 1/2″

We only currently have the Letter “R” available in this patriotic style, but we can see if we can make/design other letters for you, if you are interested, just email us!

So, if your First or Last Name begins with the Letter “R”, this wood patriotic monogram is for YOU!  (Your front door will thank you!)  To order one for yourself today, click here!
