You’ve Got the Cutest Little Baby Cakes

Cake Pops or Baby Cakes, whatever you call em, they’re delicious!  Not to mention, they are so easy to make when you have a neat Baby Cakes Maker!  Mommy got this for Christmas from Daddy and she tried it out for the first time yesterday.  She made Daddy some half-dipped cake pops in chocolate then dipped them in chopped walnuts.  Whala, instant deliciousness!

Mommy had a little problem with melting the chocolate and keeping the chocolate in a smooth consistency, but she did succeed in making enough treats for Daddy to take into work with him today.  She used one yellow cake mix for the cake pops, and put one tablespoon of the batter into each section in the maker (it makes 12 at a time), then waited 4 minutes for them to  cook completely.  When all the batter was used, we ended up with over 80+ little cake pops!  WOW!  It was amazing how many cake pops one box of cake mix could make.

Normally, cake pops are supposed to be dipped completely in the chocolate, but since we had trouble keeping our chocolate smooth, we only dipped one side.  Since this was our first attempt at making these adorable & easy cake pops, we are sure that with practice we can turn out some incredible treats!  By the way, this Baby Cakes Maker also includes a really neat “injector” where you can use to insert any type of filling into your cake pops once they are cooked.  Just fill the injector with jelly or pudding (for donut holes) or whip up a cream cheese mixture and insert into a chocolate cake pop.  You can also insert a lollipop stick to the cake pops then dip them in chocolate for a special occasion!

If you are interested in learning more on how to make Cake Pops for yourself, we have the cake pop book available on our website.

The possibilities are endless for cake pops because you can dip them in any color of chocolate melts, then add sprinkles, nuts, coconut, crushed Oreos or anything you want!  You choose how you want to make them and I bet every time you do, they will go fast!  Have fun & experiment!

  1. Hey Nikita! My Mommy said that they like all kinds of toppings and plain too. She said that they will be excitingly(Is excitingly a word?)waiting for their surprise!! Our weather today feels like a Spring day too! You are so LUCKY to have had 4-5 snowfalls already! Back in 1996, long before I(and Melody)was born, when Christopher was in Kindergarten, there was a snowfall here of 25+ inches that fell between January 6-9th! The whole East Coast was SNOWBOUND!! Christopher had started back to school after the Christmas Vacation, and then it hit, just like in the story of Rudolph! Christopher didn’t have any school for at least a week! And, Daddy worked from home(the best that he could)for a couple of days! People were told to stay home if they were able to allow snowplows and other vehicles to help with the cleanup. Mommy said that they did not know where to put the snow after awhile; the mounds of snow became mountains of snow! WOW!! I bet that would have been neat to climb those mountains!! There have been some BIG snowfalls here in the past since I have been born but not like that one! We are 25+ inches over the amount of average rainfall for 2011, but I bet if we do not get lots or any snow this winter, the experts will be saying that we have a drought situation for 2012! They are never satisfied!! Have LOTS OF FUN at PetSmart today!! I told everyone that you said WOOF WOOF!! Love, Harmony XO

    • HEY HARMONY & MOMMY! MY MOMMY SAID THANKS FOR THE UPDATE ON WHAT GOODIES YOU LIKE, SHE’LL KEEP THAT IN MIND THE NEXT TIME SHE MAKES HER YUMMY CAKE POPS! BY THE WAY, DON’T FORGET THAT AMERICAN IDOL WILL BE STARTING SOON ON JANUARY 18TH SO DON’T FORGET TO WATCH! JUST LIKE LAST YEAR, I WILL BE DOING MY WEEKLY IDOL UPDATES! WOOF WOOF, LOVE NIKITA

  2. The “Melting Pot” sounds like a great idea! Mommy said to tell your Mommy to perfect those treats soon; she is taking your Mommy up on her offer to send a box of these treats to us!! LOL We are still Christmasing at our house!! As I am writing this to you, I am listening to the Pandora Christmas Radio Station. I LOVE Christmas!! I can listen to Christmas songs all the time!! “Welcome Christmas” from “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” is on now. I like how Max ends up riding on the back of the Grinch’s sleigh when the sleigh gets ahead of him, and then, he waves to the Grinch while he sits on the back of the sleigh! He is sooo cute…and innocent!! Ahh, Christmas!! So Peaceful!! So Wonderful!! But, where is our SNOW? Mommy keeps looking at our Snowman gauge; she says that he looks so sad and lonely with NO SNOW to measure! How can we get almost a foot of snow at Halloween and none since then? I WANT TO PLAY IN THE SNOW!! Christopher is still home from college, and I want to go outside and play in the snow with him before he starts school again! He will be student teaching secondary Mathematics in two local schools this semester and one evening education class at college. I hear Daddy opening the front door! I always hear his SUV pull into the driveway and run to the foyer to greet him! I really must have been into listening to the Christmas music and writing to you that I didn’t hear his car!! I gotta go!! Have a FUN weekend and ENJOY your SNOW!! Love, Harmony XO

    • Hey Harmony! Ask your Mommy if there are any “toppings” that she does not like (ie: nuts etc) and my Mommy will work on perfecting those tasty treats! Once she perfects them, your Mommy & Daddy will find a nice surprise in the mail one day! Our snow is almost all gone now and just our snow mounds are still standing, but I love heading outside and I dig like crazy in them! Our weather feels like a Spring day outside which is kinda strange for this time of year. We’ve had only about 4-5 snowfalls so far, but it has been an easy winter so far. I wonder if we’ll get dumped on with snow or if we’ll have a mild winter? Who knows, but I love snow as much as you do! We’re heading off to my favorite place today (PetSmart) so I can see all of my buddies! talk to you soon! Tell everyone I said Hi! Woof woof, Love Nikita

  3. Nikita, tell your Mommy that these treats look delicious!! With my strong Doggy sense of smell, they smell scrumptious!! My Mommy wanted to know how your Mommy melted the chocolate. If you use a double boiler(chocolate in a pot above another pot of boiling water turned down to medium or simmer), the chocolate will stay melted and smooth. Plus, melting AND occasionally stirring a larger amount of chocolate will also help keep the chocolate smooth. Once the chocolate gets scorched, the next place for it is in the garbage! DO NOT let the water in the bottom pot get into the chocolate pot because it will ruin the smoothness of the melted chocolate. Keep baking those delicious Baby Cakes Cake Pops! Bet your Daddy’s fellow workers will LOVE AND GOBBLE THEM UP!!
    Love, Harmony XO

    • MOMMY JUST USED A SMALL POT AND PUT IT ON THE STOVE ON LOW HEAT. SHE IS LOOKING AT A “MELTING POT” AT KMART FOR MELTING CHOCOLATE, SO SHE WON’T HAVE TO DEAL WITH BURNT CHOCOLATE AGAIN. THEY WERE YUMMY AND WE WERE SURPRISED AT HOW MANY THEY MADE (80+) FROM JUST ONE BOX OF CAKE MIX. WOW! MAYBE WHEN MOMMY PERFECTS THESE TREATS, SHE’LL SEND YOU A BOX OF THEM IN THE MAIL! WHAT ARE YOU UP TO FOR THE WEEKEND?
